Willow Tree Figurines

Susan Lordi's Willow Tree Figurines

I remember the first time I saw Willow Tree figurines. My husband and I were on vacation in Vermont. These figurines were displayed in a country store. It was Angel of the Garden. I fell for her immediately. She had a shovel, how could I not? I love gardening. It's a passion that I share with my mother-in-law. I bought her the Angel of the Garden figurine for Christmas that year. She loved it.

When my birthday came around I was very surprised to receive from her the Angel of the Kitchen. She know that I love to cook. It was so perfect. What we both came to realize is that these Willow Tree figurines are perfect, perfect for everyone. There is at least one that will be perfect for every friend on your list. What my mother-in-law and I started years ago, giving each other a Willow Tree Angel has blossomed for each of us into a collection.

My particular favorite Willow Tree Angels are the angels of the seasons, The Angel of winter holding a wreath of evergreens, the Angel of Summer with her sunflower, the Angel of Spring with her basket of flowers, and the Angel of Autumn with her sheaths of wheat.

I started giving my young niece Willow Tree Figurines and Angels several years ago too. The first figurine I gave her was Happiness because being with her makes me so happy. I have also given her the With Affection Angel holding onto a cat as she and I both love cats too. It's funny how things catch on in families. My niece gave my mother the Grandmother figurine for her birthday this year!

I love the fact that Susan Lordi, who is the inspiration and the artist behind the Willow Tree collection started to offer her popular line of collectibles as Christmas tree ornaments. It's another wonderful way to display them and share them with family and friends. I love visiting my family and friends and seeing ornaments I have given them on their trees. When I put mine on my tree it's a wonderful reminder of memories past.

It's hard to imagine that this popular collectible was just started in 2000. These are beautifully simple figurines perfect for anyone as a keepsake gift.
